Location

How do I find you?

We will send you detailed directions closer to your appointment date. We are located next door to Basildon Park in Lower Basildon, West Berkshire.

Parking

Where can I park?

There is ample parking available on site. When you arrive, please park to the left of the carport rather than directly in front of it.

Arrival Time

Do I need to arrive early for my appointment?

No need to arrive early — please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. We have built in time at the beginning of your session for you to settle in, complete any forms, and make yourself comfortable.

What to Wear

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear something comfortable with a loose neckline — such as a camisole or similar top. This allows you to easily tuck the straps under your arms during the treatment.

Payment

How can I pay for my treatment?

We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments via our SumUp card machine. Accepted cards include Visa, V Pay, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and UnionPay. We also support contactless payments with Samsung Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Access

What accessibility features does the salon have?

The salon is accessed via a downward ramp with one step at the entrance. Due to the building's design, the premises are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible at this time. We are committed to inclusive service and welcome enquiries from clients with mobility or accessibility requirements. Please contact us prior to booking so we can discuss your needs and explore alternative arrangements.

Do you have bathroom facilities?

Yes, we have a small bathroom with toilet and sink facilities available for clients.

Treatment Room

What does the treatment room look like?

When you enter, you'll step into our welcoming entrance area where you can leave your coat and shoes. The bathroom is just off the entrance. From here, you'll move through to the treatment area, which features comfortable sofa chairs for your consultation, the treatment bed prepared and ready for you, and a beautiful country view to help you relax.

What to Expect

First Visit

What should I expect at my first appointment?

We'll begin with a comprehensive skin consultation to understand your concerns and goals. Then, you'll relax while we tailor the perfect treatment for you — including double cleanse, exfoliation, treatment mask, massage and more. You'll leave feeling deeply relaxed with glowing, nourished skin.

Treatment Duration

How long does the consultation and facial take?

At Ivory & Aura, we never rush. The initial consultation typically takes around 15 minutes, and the facial itself lasts approximately 60 minutes. If you need to leave at a specific time, please let Marie know at the beginning of your appointment.

What's Included

What does the facial include?

We begin with a consultation (or review your notes if you're a returning client) and discuss your skin type and needs. Depending on your requirements, your treatment will include:

  • Double Cleanse

  • Double Exfoliation

  • Treatment Mask Mapping

  • Mini Arm and Hand Massage

  • Treatment Serum

  • Moisturiser

  • Facial, neck, shoulder & décolletage massage with healing oils

Which products do you use?

We use Tropic Skincare, a brand driven by their mission to create a healthier, greener and more empowered world. Their products undergo independent testing to validate efficacy and are certified by COSMOS Natural & Organic, CarbonNeutral, Protect Land & Sea, and Provenance. We also value their ethics — they donate 10% of their profits to various charities around the world.

Pregnancy

Are facials safe during pregnancy?

Yes — our organic, natural facials are completely pregnancy-safe. We adapt our techniques and products to be gentle and suitable for every stage of pregnancy.

Sensitive Skin

I have very sensitive skin / rosacea / eczema — can you help?

Absolutely. We specialise in sensitive and reactive skin. All our products are organic, natural and free from harsh chemicals. Marie herself has sensitive skin and only uses products she trusts completely.

Aftercare

What aftercare advice should I follow?

After your treatment:

  • Drink plenty of water (and avoid alcohol if possible)

  • Wear SPF protection — preferably SPF50 — for the next few days as a minimum

  • Do not exfoliate for the following week

  • You may experience a skin purge — this is completely normal

  • In the rare event of a reaction, please message us immediately

Frequency

How often should I book a facial?

For ongoing skin health, we recommend treatments every 4–6 weeks. However, even one-off treatments deliver visible results — perfect for pre-event glow, special occasions, or simply treating yourself.

Do you have a referral programme?

Yes, we do for current clients. When someone you refer books their appointment, they simply need to mention your name. Once they've attended their treatment, we'll message you to confirm your discount towards your next facial. You can use up to a maximum of £20 worth of discount in a single visit. Please ask for more details.

Loyalty

Do you have a loyalty programme?

Yes — at Ivory & Aura, we love to reward our loyal clients. Once you've attended six facials, we'll have a special gift waiting for you. Please ask for more details.

Gift Vouchers

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes — our gift vouchers are valid for 6 months and make the perfect gift for birthdays, Mother's Day, Christmas or just because. You can purchase them online or contact us directly.

Gift Lists

Do you hold gift lists?

Yes! We understand the challenge of gift-giving. Simply provide us with your wishlist of Tropic Skincare products and facial vouchers, then share our number or email address with your gift-givers. We'll organise everything, ensuring you receive exactly what you'd like.

Do you offer skincare workshops?

Yes! We're passionate about skincare education. We believe it's important for you to understand what you apply to your skin and what's right for your unique skin type. We offer workshops both one-to-one and in groups. Please contact us for more information.

Do you offer makeup workshops?

Yes — we love helping people experiment with colours and different makeup techniques to discover what works best for them. Please get in touch to arrange a session.
